Mt 4:19 "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."
"Son, where do these people go to church?"
"These people don't go to church anywhere, Dad."
With those words, the vision of Cowboy Church was born. A place where Cowboys and Cowgirls could go to church without apology and without throwing away their heritage. The Cowboy Church of Ellis County exists first and foremost to reach western culture people for Jesus Christ. Toward that end, we offer a number of fellowship and ministry opportunities geared specifically to Cowboys and Cowgirls.
Thursday Night Buckout
This is a time for people of all ages to ride bulls, broncs, or maybe just do a little "mutton busting." All livestock is age appropriate, so whether you are an expert in need of practice, a beginner wanting to learn, or just a spectator come on out. There's always a gospel message at half-time and the concession stand is open. It's a great place to have fun AND learn about Jesus.
The Thursday Night Buckout kicks off every Thursday night at 7 p.m. except for Thanksgiving and the week of Christmas. It can occasionally be called for very bad weather, so if in doubt please call ahead. For more information contact Gary Halbert at 817-271-5250.
Tuesday Night Barrel Racing
If you have ever wanted to learn how to run barrels, or to train your horse to run barrels, or just plain old love running barrels yourself, this is your spot for fun. There is always a good combination of beginners and veterans at this event, so its an ideal place to learn from those who know the ropes.
Barrel Racing begins every Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. unless the temperature falls below 42 degrees, in which case it is cancelled. For more information, contact Pam Underwood at 214-914-2013.
